Can I Buy a New Home Before I Start My New Job?

This is a question that comes up a lot. Especially, when buyers are moving here from out of town. It is important because, if given the opportunity, most buyers would prefer to buy, move in and get settled in before they start their new job. Why? Because then there is no need to take time off work from the new job to search for a home, buy a home and get moved in!

The good news is Community America does allow buyers to purchase a home before starting a new job.  Here is how it works. For example, let’s say you have buyers moving here from Chicago.  She starts her new position on August 1. Community America would allow her to buy up to 60 days prior to the start of her new job on Aug. 1st.  We just need a signed offer letter by both parties with a specific start date and we can send out a pre-approval letter.  It is as easy as that!  It’s a great benefit.
